World Cup 2018

World Cup 2018 has already begun, and we could see the first matches. Tomorrow also Polish national team will have its opportunity to shine. The championships create interest among all of us, even those who usually have nothing to do with sport and are far from being big fans of football. On this occasion, I've picked some curiosities that you probably haven't heard of before:
  1. The correct name is 'soccer' and not 'football' that is used in Europe. The word comes from the United Kingdom and is an abbreviation of Association Football.
  1. On average player during one match runs about 10 km.
  1. Football was invented by prisoner from the Newgate. As a part of their punishment, they had their arms cut and not being able to touch the ball, they've learnt how to play by using only their legs.
  1. The oldest football club was founded in 1857 by two British officers and was called FC Sheffield.
  1. FIFA doesn't allow matches to be played on the height that surpasses 2,500 metres above sea level. It's due to the low-pressure and oxygen deficiency that can be dangerous to the health.
  1. Arthur Friedenreich I considered to be the best shooter in the history. He scored over 1329 goals between 1920 and 1940.
  1. The first penalty was performed in 1891.

In 2015: More people have died by taking selfies than by shark attacks

Although people tend to be afraid of shark attacks, the fear is not entirely justified and it most likely a result of movies fiction than being a witness of one.  In fact, in 2015, there have been twelve recorded selfie deaths in comparison to eight people dying because of shark attacks. Most of the selfie-related deaths have been due to falling. The next most common is when people are trying to take a selfie, and they're hit by a moving vehicle. In order to get a good shoot people risk more and more. Everyone wants to have an unique picture.  Some are crossing the line and in exchange for likes are taking the whole selfie thing a little too far. In Russia selfie deaths have become so popular that the government even released a guide detailing how not to die while taking a picture of yourself.

5 WEIRD RULES THAT ROYAL FAMILY HAS TO FOLLOW

Being royal has plenty of perks, but it’s not always that great to be a part of the Family. Anyone who has ever watched The Crown or any other documentary about British Royal Family, knows that with the power and privileges come also responsibilities and set of rules they’re obligated to follow. You might have already heard about some of the Royals weird traditions, this is the list of 5 rules that I, personally, find the most bizarre. 1.      They can not play Monopoly Why? It’s simple. Therefore, he decided that Monopoly should be forbidden and members of the family should not be allowed to play it. 2.      The British Royal Family can not eat seafood Seafood can cause food poisoning, that’s why the Royals can not eat crabs, mussels or shrimps. 3.      They have ...
