Wicked Halloween Marathon

Guys! It's that time of the year. Halloween is coming. If you're not planning on going trick or treating, you're done with figuring what to dress up for or you just one of these people who don't enjoy Halloween parties. No worries. You can still enjoy this holiday, cause which night of the year is better to put up a horror movie marathon ?
First of all, make sure that you have all your munchies at hand. Ice-creams, chocolate, popcorn, candies- everything that's unhealthy and high in carbs- counts ;) Let me introduce you to the Ultimate Halloween classics that you must watch (not that into scary movies?- no worries, they're not necessarily dreadful)
1.     The one and only: Hocus Pocus: pumpkins, witches, black cat, spells: it has it all 😊

2.     The nightmare before Christmas: though sometimes I have concerns if it’s more halloweeny  or Christmassy

3.     Basically every movie directed by Tim Burton!

4.     The Addams Family

5.     Practical Magic (one of my personal favourites)

6.     Interview with the vampire

7.     Carrie

8.     The Craft

9.     The witches of Eastwick

The Crucible

Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera exhibition

It’s the last call for everyone who’s interested in visiting the Frida Kahlo exhibition in Poznań. It will be held until 21 st of January in Centrum Kultury ZAMEK in Poznań. The exhibition is there from September and has so far attracted a lot of visitors from all around the country. The organiser of the event says that that’s the first and only exhibition of Kahlo’s and Diego Rivera’s works with the “polish accent” (barely known polish thread concerning their artistic creation). You can purchase the tickets online or directly at the museum, but please consider that there’s a big likelihood of crowds, specially during the last weekend. For any further information, you can contact the official website.

Christmas Traditions

We’re all used to Polish Christmas traditions and they don’t seem to be weird for us but some foreigners might find them unusual. Just like we consider many of  their habits quite bizarre. Here’s the list of 8 that I find particularly different. 1.        In Austria, parents threat their children with Krampus- the evil brother of Santa that comes overnight on 5 th and 6 th of December and punishes bad kids. He’s truly scary and has goat’s horns on his head. During this night we may encounter many people dressed as Krampus in the streets. 2.        Japanese eat KFC on Christmas Day. 3.        In India the traditional Christmas tree is a banana or mango tree. 4.        Women in Czech Republic  have a tradition to make some predictions or foretells during the Holiday. For example they throw a shoe over the shoulder and if it lays in the way that the...

FoodHall Poznan

For all the food lovers, there’s a new project that combines food and culture. The old building, of now out of order, Poznan Glowny Station each weekend- starting from the 23-25 th of March- will hold food trucks’ exhibitors as well as DJs and lots of other artists. Station Hall will be divided in two zones: the art zone and the chill zone (which is still kept as a secret), moreover there’ll be also a bar and of course food trucks’ site. The entrée is free, everyone can come and take part in the project. Each weekend there’s a different attraction provided. You can consult the list of exhibitors and musicians on the official event’ website on Facebook. I find it a truly pleasant way to spend your time, not only you can taste the food from different food trucks- all in the same place- but also divert yourself in the art zone. That’s why, I would recommend this project to everyone that has no idea what to do during a weekend 😉
